The role of the mentor coach within the ICF is undergoing significant evolution. In addition to supporting the professional growth of coaches, it now also includes the responsibility for long-term monitoring of competency development and its final confirmation as part of the Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) process.
This interactive 10-hour program prepares experienced coaches for this new professional role. It is not a substitute for the official ICF Assessor Training or its calibration. It focuses on an area that assessor training naturally does not cover—how to conduct mentor coaching in a way that supports genuine learning and long-term competency development while maintaining ethical integrity and psychological safety.
The course combines brief theoretical sessions with intensive practical work. Participants will work with examples of mentoring-style coaching, conduct model mentor-coaching conversations, and engage in group exercises and reflective discussions in small groups.
